I`ve been following this board for months now, and I finally got the stuff I needed and tackled my first full detail on my 98 Volvo S70 (dark blue metallic).

This has always been an outdoor car here in Chicago (got it used) and it had lots of fine scratches, and the finish just didn`t look great...so my expectations weren`t really high...here`s what I did.

    Dawn Wash

Mothers clay on the whole thing

    Dawn Wash

3M SMR with non-PC buffer (took long time, will buy the PC for sure now)

    Meguiars Gold Wash

    Klasse AIO

    Klasse SGx3 (3 coates over 3 days)

    Mothers pure carnuba topper

Holy crap, it`s like I have a new car!!. I never would have believed the clay could have done so much (it really got filthy, but I kept kneading it), my paint went from very rough feeling to smooth as glass. Klasse is unreal, (sg can be a bit of work to get off), and the mothers carnuba topper finished the trick with depth. The SMR got a lot of the fine scratches, I probably could have worked it more, but you barely see any of them now.

My car looks great, and the finish is buttery smooth (and I mean that!!), I can`t believe it. The depth of shine is awesome, it`s like I can reach into it...

This board has been great, thanks for all the informative material, I will be perfecting my method over the time to come.

Great. I love using the klasse combo (especially on dark)!!

You seem to have everything covered in your routine. I would suggest a couple of tidbits: try using the SMR after the meguiars car wash (there has been debates on whether the AIO would remove the SMR, but I found better impact using both). If you do not plan on topping the SG wth any wax (no real need, especially in the winter months; I do it because I am addicted!!), you should use a good QD like sonus or meguiars FI in between washes.:up

Consider yourself addicted to detailing. Wonderful hobby and even more exciting (but sometimes frustrating) with a daily driver.

Now let`s hit the interior, wheels and tires.

Yes, this pretty much nails it on the head! LOL Just when you think you`re done you remember the car has an inside to it too! :p

Congratulations on a job well done.
