I`m thinking of buying a used BMW, but the previous owner has scratched all the wood grain around the gear shift area. Nothing you can feel with your finger, but it looks kinda bad. Anyone know of anything to remove such a thing?

I have the same problem on my 1999 740iL. I purchased the car last year Certified Pre Owned with 28K miles on it. I have polished the area with Griot`s Fine Hand Polish and it helped a little.

Does anyone know of anything else that might help?

I have the same issue with the wood grain on my Audi A8. I remember reading on this forum that someone had good luck with Plastic Polish and so I bought some and am going to try it. I will let you know what the result is.
