Is it worth getting something that costs 3 times as much? $62 vs $175 shipped(until end of this month). Whats the difference between amps and hp? The first one is 8 amps but only 1-2 hp while the second one is peak 4 hp. I searched for vaccuum but didnt find much info on different brands.

Funny this was brought up. I got a discount code today, good for 20% off the Vac-n-Blo which makes it $140 with free shipping. Since my garage storage space is pretty limited, the small foot print of the Vac-n-Blo is appealing.

I just got that Shop-Vac model. See my review in this link. I think it’s a great little vacuum and I have been using the heck out of it this last week. :up

I guess ill be getting the Shop-Vac. I dont have many customers at the moment and winter is comming. I cant justify buying something I wont use until next year.

I picked up the Craftsman 3hp/3 gal unit the other day. It has a blower as well. Really nice unit for $70, and it`ll fit in the trunk of my Mustang.

CHECK OUT RIGIDS AT HOME DEPOT!! These things are powerful and dependable, and pretty much all of them come with the 2 1/2" hose (which I demanded after messing with a cheap Shop Vac with a 1 1/4" hose for about a year). About Shop Vacs-- the more expensive ones are great, but the cheaper ones are cheap! They come with no helpful accessories. The Rigid I bought a while ago has the 2 1/2" hose, blower port, a variety of nossels, and a filter that doesn`t have to be changed for wet and dry pickup (which is very helpful when vaccumming up wet carpet mats after shampooing or pressure washing). My 3.5 HP 9 gallon Rigid was $50, at least $15 cheaper than the most comparable Shop Vac, which DID NOT EVEN come with a 2 1/2" hose OR the wet/dry filter!! Home Depot carries the Rigid line; Lowes carries Shop Vac. I shopped around a lot before buying my last vac, and I correctly concluded that Rigid was the way to go.

Chuckmotor, what model did you get? I did some more researching and found these prices. I dont mind paying more for something if its worth it. Im leaning towards the Fein because its a wet/dry. I couldnt find many reviews except for epinions and amazon.

I searched the board and BradB uses it also. That vacuum doesnt come with any accessories either, adding to the cost. Ive got a 5.5 hp 16 gallon Craftsman vac in the garage but lost all the accessories and its too big. I looked for prices on accessories and they want $20 for longer hose, $20 for car kit, filter, etc. It all adds up. Still researching....
