I was wondering if I could use Meg. #2 by hand to remove some deeper scratchs and maybe some minor etching. Would I then need to go over the area with my #9 to remove any light scratchs.

    Thanks, Dave

Meguiars clearly states that the product is only meant to be used with a rotary or orbital buffer.

I even called their customer support one time to confirm.

Medallion is meant to be used by either.

You couls also use the Deep Crystal system polish which can be used by hand as well.

Instead of #2, try either Scratch-X or #83, Meguiar’s Dual Action Cleaner/Polish. Both can be applied by hand with #83 being more aggressive than Scratch-X.
