Do products expire?

I`m often tempted to buy certain products in bulk when I see a good deal. But knowing that it will last me a few years, I`m hesitant to buy too much of a product because I`m afraid it will lose its "freshness" after time. Does anyone know what is the shelf life of carnauba wax and/or other products?

I just received my first can of the 3M paste wax from CMA, and I noticed it has a use-by date printed on the bottom of the can. It`s about 2 years out (6/04 if memory serves), so it seems 18 - 24 months sounds about right.
