when i was wiping off the SG after letting it dry I saw lint smear all over the paint and it was hard to take off. I could take it off when I glide my finger over it. So I used EO Wipe N shine and a terry cloth towel to remove it and it seemed to work. How do I get the lint off the towels? I think I left it in the dryer too long.

Did you wash them with alone or with other towels? The MF towels shouldn`t generate any lint. Maybe you could try washing them by themselves and tossing in the dryer on low heat for a little bit.

Don`t dry your microfibre towels in the dryer, they are mcuh more effective at holding lint than the lint basket. After you wash them air dry them.

Is it OK to wash the MF`s by hand with a liquid dish detergent or should they be machine washed with a powder. I would think you would want to wash without leaving any softeners or oils.

    What works for you?

    Hi im-kruzin,

Are these new MF towels? Did you wash them first before using them?

I would recommend washing your MF towels in warm water (<=90 degrees) first with a mild laundry detergent. Make sure it does not have bleach in it. Wash your MF towels separately from your other towels (bath, hand, and other types of cotton fabric). It is best to line dry your MF towels or if you are in a rush you can put in the dryer but at air temperature. Remember to watch them closely, they do dry dry fairly quickly.

Here are the rules of thumb for brand new and care instructions on a ongoing basis:

    1. Wash in warm water with mild laundry detergent

    2. Do not add bleach, fabric softener, and do not iron

    3. Line dry recommended or air dry in dryer separately

    I hope that helps.

    Aloha,

    Ranney

    Thanks PakShak,

These were new MF`s. I`m planning on buying more so I`ll always have a clean dry one during detailing. I just didn`t want to start accumulating alot of these without knowing how to make them last.

    Thanks

I don`t know what brand MF towels people are using, but some low quality towels just tend to lint a lot and you can`t do anything about it. Sometimes even after a proper washing. :nixweiss
