What`s everyone`s detailing plans for the weekend? Mine?

Well, the Maxima needs a bath and I might do the Pastor`s Concorde. I might consider cleaning the interior carpet of the Maxima.

Having never used Zaino but getting ready to give it shot.....Will polish mixed with ZFX be able to be shelved for future use or is it no longer storable?

    Thanks,

    Kelly

I have a Mercedes 460SL, Ford Taurus, and a F150 pickup to do.

I will try to 5-minute detail my Ranger and the wife`s Impala (they are both clean right now) in between these detailds.

It all depends on the weather. Please be nice out . . . please.

No once you mix the ZFX into the polish you`re supposed to use it within 6 hours... if you don`t a chemical reaction of somesort takes place and it all starts to grow and ooze out of the bottle. And that was after 1 night.

    Thanxs Mutilator,

I also looked more carefully on the Zaino website and found this:

Note: When you are finished polishing, wash the mixing bottle inside and out with a heavy concentration of liquid dishwashing detergent and thoroughly rinse. The ZFXâ„¢ mixing bottles cannot be reused if the polish remains in the bottle for more than 12 hours. After 12 hours, it is not possible to completely clean the mixing bottle. Throw the mixing bottle and any unused polish contents away after 12 hours.

Get off my duff and finish the darn prep! Claying almost done, then with SMR in one hand, and Scratch-X in the other, it`s time to get serious.

Then for that long-awaited touch of Klasse........

You`re in luck. Forecast is for low 20`s (centigrade, just in case anyone else misunderstands ) and partly cloudy. Perfect detailing weather!

Unfortunately, I am tied up with the big Dragonboat Festival this weekend and my car is going to have to wait until next week.

Unless I can convince the GF that a quick wash is in order on Friday night!!!

I had plans to give my Aurora a full detail, but it doesn`t look like I am going to be able to because of the weather.

Supposed to be 90`s this weekend with like 2000% humidity...can you use any products when it`s these kind of weather conditions out?

I may just wake up at 5 while it`s still half way decent out and start it.

Well, I did my full wash on the 850 yesterday, since we had to drive to the country to see DH`s parents and were attacked by every flying bug known to mankind! I just couldn`t leave those bugs on `til the weekend!! Went ahead and added another layer of Meg. #26 to the front spoiler and hood to help those bugs slide off next time.

And last night, we started wheel well detailing!! Woo Hoo!! This is really fun! I only got the front left wheel well done as I don`t think it has been truly cleaned in the 6 yrs/157K miles the car has existed!! (We`ve only had it 3 mo/3K miles)

The back of the wheel was absolutely crusted with brake dust/filth, so that took about an hour, and still didn`t get all the dust off. (Looks like these wheels will need a repaint eventually.) bbut they and the wheel well look sooooo much better! Yay!! So, one down, 3 to go! :xyxthumbs

We also finished painting my son`s Colt wheels last night - looks as good as cheap Plymouth steel wheels could possibly look.

DH is planning to rust prevent, then paint his `65 Spitfire frame, so he`ll be busy with that.

I sure would like to get an engine detail done on the Volvo, but guess I`ll be tied up with those wheels -- oh well, there`s always next week!!

I am going out of town (about a 2hr drive). So to prepare for the bugs, I layered on two fresh coats of ZFX Z2. Hopefully those pesky pests will come off easier.

My two Big Blues arrived, bringing the total to three. I am looking forward to using those soon also.
