Some one recently asked me how they could tell if their clear coat is gone. I advised them that if they apply a polish/cleaner they will see some of the their paint on the applicator after it is applied. He then asked me if a polish removes oxidized paint then is it actually just removing just a layer of clear coat since the color coat is protected underneath. I informed him that it is only removing a layer of the clear coat. Is this correct?
