I have been looking at the PC polisher @ Griot`s Garage, but it is $200 w/o any pads. I have seen prices mentioned on this board much lower than that.

Griot`s likes to say that their version has a larger, metal base plate, and that chepaer models have a plastic base. True?

Does anyone know where I can buy one for a better price than Griiot`s?

    Thanks.

Most folks seem to prefer buying them at Lowes. A tad over a hundred bucks there I think. I don`t like the looks of griots backer plate, it looks like if conditions were right, one could chip or marr the paint. I have the backer plate from Meguiars, and many members use the CMA kit. As for the pads, CMA is a popular choice, but you can also order from Meguiars or find 3M or Meguiars at your local autobody paint supply supplier.

    Skip,

Welcome to Autopia. There have been lots of discussions here about where to buy PC`s and which one to get. Do a search on "PC" and you`ll find lots of posts. All your questions will be answered (I can`t imagine a question that hasn`t been since its discussed so often).

In the white window that says "search for" type in "PC".

    Have fun searching.

    Steve

The 7336 is the PC with the 6 inch counter weight.

The 7424 has the 5 inch counter weight which would not go with the 6 inch backing plate.

At www.coastaltool.com the 6 inch counter weight is $1.95 and the PC 7336 is $115.

You can also take a look at International Tool as I`ve heard that they have good pricing and I think free shipping on higher priced orders (like a PC).

Correction: I just looked, and on orders over $75, there`s free shipping.

You can look at Coastal Tool`s website for more information on the PC 7336 .
