Hey all!

First time poster, *LONG* time Autopia lurker.

Anyways, I just got back from a show today, and here are the pics.

I ended up taking home 3 trophies:

1) #1 in class
2) Most Creative (??!)
3) Best of Show

Anyways, let me know what ya`ll think. I was talking to one of the judges afterwards, and he said if there had been a best paint I would have won!

What are you using on the paint?

Like most Autopians, I have tried about everything out there. I could literally open a store with the amount of stuff in my garage.



Anyways, here is what I use that works best for *ME*.



Exterior:



All products (except clay bar) used with Porter Cable 7424.



Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo

3M clay bar

Meguiars #9 SMR (2.0)

Meguiars Medallion Paint Cleaner

Meguiars Show Car Glaze

Meguiars Gold Class Liquid Wax



Tires:

Meguiars Endurance (the purple, grape smelling one)



Engine:

Stoners Trim Spray [plastic surfaces]

BMW Gummy Pflege [rubber hoses]



Windshield:

Stoners Invisible Glass



Interior:

Vinylex [plastic/vinyl surfaces]

Lexol [leather]



In my opinion, the exterior pre-treament (before wax) is the most important. I have tried FI2, PPCL, and others, and have never been satisfied until the Medallion Paint Cleaner.



As far as polish/wax, I have tried Zaino (I don`t see what the Zaino Zealots find so attractive about a finish which does not look "warm"), Klasse (looked very similar to Klasse), 3M, Mothers, P21S, and a whole slew of others. I keep returning to "good `ole" Gold Class. It`s reflectivity and depth are *AWESOME*.



The car is a garage queen, and only taken out on weekends (and mostly to shows), so, the issues with longevity utilizing Gold Class are meaningless.
