# of clear coats with new paint job?

i was just wondering, while im still waiting to have my hood repainted for the second time i wanted to know whats the usual number of clear coats real pros or factories use after they paint a car?



this first repaint they said they sprayed 4 layers of clear coat on it. they said its "the normal amount". but being an autopian i can clearly see the clear coat is much thicker than the rest of my car. when you put ur hand on it, u can almost see your hand is slightly floating on top of tha actual color. so how many coats is really recommended?



also, im seeing little bubble like pits on the clear. i heard this is usually caused by too thick of a clear coat?
