My car doesn`t get too dirty. Dust does accumulate on it, but that`s about all. What`s more, I live in LA, where it never rains or snows. I don`t have to worry about water spots or road salt. It seems to me that I could go two weeks between washes without much difficulty.

I have a carport and use a quick detailer once or twice per week.

Since I have a dark blue car, I am worried about accumulating swirls. Do you think I should wash weekly or biweekly?

If you use the car as a daily driver I would wash it every week.

Smog and sea salt can corrode paint too.. that is why everyone here recommends a weekly was, and a quick detail in the middle of the week

it is LA and a good looking car is important!

There has not been a meeting-of-the-minds on this yet on this forum. However, I say let common sense prevail. If the car is noticeably dirty, definitely wash it. If the dust is very light or just pollen and you can not see any splashes of mud on the side of the car, QD should be fine. However, use a clean MF or cotton towel each time. Or at least know where it has been. Also, when you spray the QD let it dwell for a few seconds before wiping it down. I also wet my MF towel (that`s what I use for QD) with a few sprits of distilled water before hand.

Washing a daily driver once a week makes good sense to me, as long as you have the time.

It rained earlier this week here in LA. I don`t know if your car got any of it or not, but if it did, definitely wash.

When you say you use a QD on it once or twice a week, unless you`re doing that right after a wash, it probably isn`t often enough. If it is a daily driver, then I would QD at LEAST once every two days, otherwise the risk of getting swirls is too much....at least for me.

As others have noted before I, only quick detail if your car is only slightly dusty or very slightly dirty. Otherwise, wash. Laters
