    Bird Poop Stain Help

Had a bird poop on the car. It is a Honda HRV. I was able to clean it off but now when you look across the back of the hatch at the right angle you can see the stain still on the clear coat. I tried to get a picture, the spot is in the middle below the sun spot.
I tried to clean it off with some spray on wax cleaner but it is still there. Any suggestions of what I can try to get rid of it or if it is possible? The paint on this Honda seems very easy to scratch or mark.

You may need a spot remover to remove the minerals left after you cleaned off the turd and light compound to polish away the scarring/etching the acids the turn may have eaten into the clear coat.

If you want to be very cautious some baking soda/water mixture on there to neutralize any acids, then a fine polish or AIO will likely be required to remove that light etching, although it seems to me in the past I have had some like that disappear after airing out for a while.

Thanks, I can`t feel it when I run my finger over it, just see it when the light shines across it or hits it. Seems to be harder to get off of this car compared to older cars I have had. Just running my finger nail over it to test left a small scratch.

    Re: Bird Poop Stain Help

A few years ago, I had one on my wife’s car that would disappear when I polished it. It would come back within a week. That was for the five years we had the car. I just learned to live with it.
