    Washing in the rain?

I used to wash in the rain a long time ago, and I guess I just forgot about it. I did it again today and remembered so many reasons I really like it.

Number one is no water spots or worries about soap drying. You also get a spot free rinse. I can wash the entire car and rinse at the very end. It seems to speed things up not having to constantly rinse.

To dry the car, I back in about a quarter of the car into the garage and blow the water out. Repeat until the whole car is dry.

Anyone else wash in the rain?

I used to do it in my youth, for the reasons you mention, but I would just leave it outside, so no rinsing, no drying.

As I said, I did it in my youth...when getting soaking wet didn`t bother me.

I`ve done it in light rain/drizzle. I`m usually doing a rinseless with pretreating. Last time I was actually blowing the car dry before doing a section of car so that i could pretreat instead of blowing it dry after the rinseless.

Yea. I have had it happen. Usually starts just when the truck is washed and ready to be dried. Any more I usually look at the hourly forecast to avoid this.

Yes. Many times here as well. Pretty sure the neighbors have a good laugh. At this point my wife doesn`t even think it`s unusual. My use of rain gear depends on how hard it`s raining.

I love the fact I don`t have to worry about water spots or dried soap. Washing is really pretty fast and then I just pull into the garage and dry it off.

Only if it`s cold or coming down really hard. I get wet/sweaty washing anyway.

Glad to hear I`m not the only one. Another reason I like it, its something I actually like doing on a rainy day that would otherwise be wasted in front of a screen.

    Re: Washing in the rain?

In the hottest part of summer, I would rather wash in the rain rather than in the blazing sun. To me being soaking wet in the rain is more comfortable than being soaking wet from sweat while roasting in the sun. Also, water spots are a pain on black paint in the summer sun.
