Got some aluminum rims that need something

Got some aluminum rims that need something-jeeprim3.jpgGot some aluminum rims that need something-jeep-rim-1.jpgGot some aluminum rims that need something-jeeprim2.jpgI`ve had these aluminum rims for around 20 years. I must have used some type of cleaner that it didn`t agree with at some point. Has anyone seen this peeling around the ring before and how can I get rid of this?

Original factory clear is toast. Remove this, polish with an aluminum polish and coat with a good paste wax,

I wet sanded mine. Just enough grit to remove the clearcoat. Then worked my way up in grit to polish.
