What is your pick for best candy-like coating...?

If you had to pick one coating that you have used that you thought was the most glossy, candy-like coating - which would it be...?

Just taking into consideration looks - not ease of use, or water beading/sheeting, or durability...

Just the "best" coating that produces a "molten glass" look.

It did require some extraordinary restraint

That was the impression I got from 22ple HPC as well immediately after I first used it...`molten`. I used Kami ISM 2.0 2 weeks ago and it gave me the same look...it always seems very prevalent on a Race Red Ford Transit front fender (both the 22ple and the ISM 2.0).

Plus side of the 22ple is bizarrely easy application, downside is 12-24 hours between layers. Plus side to ISM 2.0 is 1-layer deal, downside is a bit of a persnickety application, apply, immediately remove in *no more* than 18" sections. Neat to find another `molten` product.

I’m still waffling back and forth about purchasing HPC during Xmas sales... this thread is getting me interested again.

Budget, we`re going to need to defer to you or someone else that`s demo`d the number of products you have. You`ve probably `seen them all`.

FWIW, I had a little bit of the HPC left over from my son`s dark blue car and used it on my daily driver last year, probably 15 months ago, and the stuff is still beading very well today.

Of the coatings I`ve used so far, my vote would be to CanCoat as well. Adding a fresh layer of Cure even makes it a little better.

All the talk of 22PL HPC has me thinking about giving it a try as well, although CarPro`s new SiC coating is tempting as well.

My UNvaluable opinion is that Cancoat is candy-like, but not molten glass. I’ve used on a coating and standalone... the coating got less glassy in appearance IMO and more rich/bright (although the paint is black so hard to pinpoint if bright is the right word).

One advantage of all these stupid fleet vehicles I try things on is they are all Ford Race Red paint so similarities/differences will stand out a bit. One that REALLY stood out was when I had 3 identical vans side-by-side (Kami Miyabi + ISM, Feynlab Ceramic, Gyeon Syncro) and the Feynlab had such a sharp, brilliant shine that it was easy to see from a ways away that things were definitely different. It really kinda had a Zaino (or sealant) look to it very vivid.

22ple was a great coating when I used HPC back in March 2017 but the VXPRO2 was kinda a bummer a year later. Dunno if Insanity will make the cut this year, pondering giving HPC a try as well to see if it is still as good. Trying to get a hold of some NV Nova Evo but can`t find anyone Down Under who will ship to U.S. and the U.S. vendor is out of stock and has been for a while.

CanCoat remains the `candy-est` of anything I`ve tried, it looked really, really good on top of Gtechnic CSL which had a somewhat rich, shiny look to it on its own as opposed to outright glossy, kinda like Gyeon Mohs.

Who knows really though...line up 25 identical vehicles side-by-side w/ different coatings and aside from something really visually different like Feynlab, would be hard pressed to pick any one out from a distance.

A majority of the look is going to come from the polishing step. With that said.

I am going to toss in 22ple Insanity. Other than the spotting it does look good over the 6 months it has been on my dads car. One think about 22ple is that they do have some of the glossiest looking coatings.

CanCoat will give that candy coated look as mentioned. There use to be a video on detailed image in their blog section of Mohs topped with CanCoat and it looked so glassy on the bluish BMW paint.

I also liked the look of Cquartz TiO2. My uncles black corvette still looks so good til this day. I forgot I even used Essence with it. I will find that other photo he sent me a few months ago as well.

Found it. It’s been about 2-3 years since I coated it.

I guess it is really hard to know what each person`s definition of glossy vs. shiny is...

Much like each person`s definition of "candy-like"...

I guess it`s pretty much, I know it when I see it kind of thing...

That`s why I like the term "molten glass" - that is pretty much universal.
