Re: Optimum Polymer Technology Discontinuing Many of Their Products

I’m just surprised anyone in this day wouldn’t have all their products at Jeff B’s detailing depot. I order products that they have because they come the next day, shipped free. No order too small.

Re: Optimum Polymer Technology Discontinuing Many of Their Products

    UPDATE:

Someone started a thread at the OPT forum, linking this thread and asking what the story was. The answer was that (as I previously stated) the lotion polishes (Optimum Compound II, Optimum Polish II, and Optimum Finish) have been discontinued in favor of the spray polishes. Also the clay towel was dropped because of some copyright issue(?).

They did admit to "substantial out-of-stocks" but that these were due to the pandemic, robust sales, and some personnel turnover issues. Dr. G is back to working full time, so he`s fine, and they are staffing up, so all is good, I think you OCW guys can rest easy.

"So now you know the rest of the story. Good Day?" (tag line from the late mid-day newscaster Paul Harvey)

Thanks Sect for informing us (me) on what is happening at Optimum Polymer Technologies.

Glad to hear OPT founder`s Dr. David Ghodoussi is back at the helm after his recent bout with cancer. We are all indebted to his contributions to the car-care product and detailing community.

I thought ONR always went low on stock this time of year.

I personally think things got weird once certain outsiders became more involved while Dr. G was preoccupied with his health issues. From my understanding quite a bit of trust was relinquished and not a lot of supervision took place resulting in things getting out of hand in a direction the company never intended on going. Things like adding new products, rogue marketing efforts, installer programs and job positions that should of never been implemented were without Dr. G’s blessing ultimately forcing him to clean house upon his return. I’m glad he trimmed the fat so he could return his focus on the grassroots of the company. He’s got some amazing updates on some benchmark products that will really make great products even greater.

It’s a shame they d/c’ed the lotion polishes; because honestly they were cheap & good. They didn’t have a ton of cut, but for regular cars they were great - because they literally never dried out & were super easy to wipe off and not greasy. Plus - like 10 bucks a small bottle.
