You could look into Gyeon CanCoat and Cquartz Lite prior to going the full coating route. These will net you about a year. Simple to apply with a wipe on wipe off fashion.

Others coatings that are straightforward are:

    Cquartz UK 3.0
    Cquartz TiO2 aka Classic
GTechniq Crystal Serum Light topped with Exo
    Optimum Gloss Coat
    Pinnacle Black Label
    Sonax CC36
    Gyeon Syncro
    Competition Ready Team 1929 Bentley
1999 Silvermist Metallic Pontiac Grand Prix GT
2002 Arctic White Chevy Camaro SS

I`m not sure what McKee`s Paint Coating v2 is like, but I found v1 to be very easy to apply. The lower cost reduced the financial risk in my mind in the event the application went horribly wrong...which it didn`t.

Guz`s recomendations are good to. I`m glad I started with McKee`s and then worked my way up to CQuartz and CanCoat.

McKee`s 37 for sure. You get a ton of it, so if you make mistakes, you have more. Its also super super easy to use. Oh... and it looks great and sheds dirt well.

I hope that Nick changes the bottle/sprayer set up. 2.0 will gel up on you after a while. Needs to be in a glass bottle and proper cap to keep it sealed better.

One more vote for PBL, Mckees or any of the lite coatings. They leave you thinking “that wasn’t so bad”.

Not to hijack the thread, but anyone know the durability on paint of the Pinnacle Black Label Diamond SURFACE Coating?

My vote goes to PBL Paint Coating. Goes on easy. Multiple applications. 12-24 months durability. The perfect starter coating.

I have to disagree with the PBL paint coating. I, as others have mentioned in an AG thread, found it to be extremely difficult to wipe off completely. It just was difficult to get it finish out like it was supposed to. It looked terrible on a dark grey GMC, and a black Honda. It flashed almost instantly, so I worked in smaller areas. I would recommend Gloss Shop for beginners. Very easy on and off, great price point, and solid durability

If you want real easy to apply and the looks from it is top notch. Polish Angel Cosmic v2 coating and prep with a finishing pad and Invicible Primer. Invicible Primer is needed to be used as it contains hardener for the Cosmic v2 coating. Cosmic v2 coating you can apply either by hand or polisher. It`s goes on like a paint sealant and easy wipe off. A little goes a long way with PA products. 2 layers of Cosmic v2 is recommended and if get any leftovers apply an extra layer on the horisontall panels if you live in a warm environment and to the side panels if you live in a winter environment where you deal with road salt. If you have not the ability to have standing to cure for the 24 hours you can apply Cosmic Spritz to reduce the cure time to 12 hours. They don`t seem to have gotten the newer Cosmic Spray Coating yet. That one you get like the coating lite products longevity of around a year of longevity from it with Invicible Primer.

Carpro CQUK 3.0 is also a great coating. That with this new version is easier to apply and not so temperature sensitive.

I wonder if the old Cosmic V2 that came in the bottle as opposed to a spray is a "get it while you can" thing. PA doesn`t even list it on their USA website anymore:

It`s still on their web site, just not under the section it should be, which is odd. If you Google it it comes up on their US site. Maybe whoever coded the site changed something and screwed it up.
