Thumbs up Flagged tipped brush & Duragloss #253

Well it hit 60 today. I was about out of the Griots satin shine aerosol dressing. So it was time to try a method that was pointed out to me here on the forum. I grabbed my new flagged tipped brush and #253 tire dressing that has proven to be perfect for me. Love the look and never slung off on to the paint. Sprayed the brush with #253 and applied it around the tire with the brush. Being I have aggressive tires now, other applicators are out of the question. Yes sir. I now love this method now that I have tried it! Works like a charm. Dressed the tire evenly and without drama. This is the method I will be using from now on.

Thanks to Eldorado2k for pointing out this method.

    I can’t seem to find
    845. Only Collinite with that number. Can you buy it on Autopia?

Oh ok, I’ve been meaning to try that one for a while now. It ought to be my next purchase.

DG 253 is too shiny for me. I have one of those flagged-tipped brushes, perhaps one of these decades I`ll get around to trying it.

Re: Flagged tipped brush & Duragloss 845

When you say "aggressive tires", I assume you mean a truck-like off-road tire with deep lug pattern and raised lettering that makes tire gel application with a foam-type pad difficult, as it will "eat" (abrade) those applicators alive. I can see how a flagged brush like the one you linked to would get into those deep recesses and patterns on such a tire, but I would think that you require a lot of tire gel to cover that entire brush head, and just wonder how much tire gel is wasted in the head`s brushes when you are done.

How do you clean such a brush of tire gel after using it??

Being #253 is a spray, not a gel, I noticed I used about the same amount as if I would have used a foam applicator. Good thing.

PA DETAILER- Glad you found an approach you like! I simply hate dressing tires, although I`m almost OK with my current applicator, which is a huge improvement.

Used carrand brush to apply tire coating. 1.5 sprays to tip of brush and worked in to lettering and siping. Leveled with MF applicator.
