The fast cut pads have no foam, if you need to be that aggressive. If microfiber is not getting the results you desire, this is the next step up.

Just ordered a couple of the Surbuf pads, since they’re specifically what he recommended. Hope they’re not too much of a PITA, but just need them for this one “job.” Also grabbed a small bottle of Menzerna SHC300. Probably a bit more of a cut than anything I have at the moment, just based on what I’ve seen people say on here.
2018 Acura TLX ASpec
Meguires used to sell microfiber pads called x-tra cut. Hardly any foam backing at all. I never got around to testing them out as the normal cutting pads were sufficient.
An unfortunate situation where someone has a Not Accumulator-proof experience.
Hope the right pads square everything away.
Some people make mistakes and others seem to have an inability to do the process right.
There`s probably some snarky response about "learning from mistakes" vs. "not" that I`m gonna leave unposted
jrock645- Good that you can see something (maybe) positive, I`m just bummed that you have to deal with it at all. Especially since you`re having to get aggressive about it and it`s hard to, you know..."stop abrading when you`re through the coating but not into the paint". Sounds like one of those "theory vs. practice" things to me!
The only tip I can offer is look for a color change. That is when the coating is gone. I’m surprised that he said surbuff pads? Must be what he sells? I’ve never had a problem with any coating using microfiber pads.
