    Reapplying Gyeon Can Coat

Hey guys, so here`s my question. Last July I applied can coat to my WRX. I clayed and decontaminated as usual and went over the whole car with megs 205 which by the way was the only thing I could get to finish clear on the insanely soft black subaru paint. Then I applied the coating. The car is not daily driven and spends most of it`s time in the garage. I`m extremely careful with it and there is basically no marring on it, thus I dont believe it really needs any polishing at all other than a few small areas. This year I want to apply another coat of can coat but do I need to polish it before applying again? Or can I just give a good wipe down with prep and put on another coat? Is polishing absolutely necessary before coating? Any advice would be appreciated.

Prep wipe and apply. As long as you are happy with the current paint condition it shouldn`t be an issue. Especially since it works great as a topper to other coatings that have been previously applied.

I agree. I suggest you prep with Gyeon Prep as it keeps things in the family. Gyeon Prep is stupid easy to use and not too expensive. However any coating prep product would probably be fine.

Does it look like the CanCoat is starting to exhibit the need to be reapplied? If not then perhaps all you really need is something like Gyeon Cure to top it off which can be used quite often until you want to polish again later on.

Thanks for the advice Guz. Well the thing is that there are few spots where there is some slight that I would like to polish and since I would then have to reapply the coating to those areas anyways I figured maybe just reapply to the whole car? Beading has diminished somewhat. I have used cure and I really like it.

I forgot to mention to check out Gyeon Primer Polish. Light cut and leaves a layer of SiO2 which will add more gloss and durability to CanCoat.

It does not take long to go over the paint especially if the paint is in good shape.
