Never Driven in Rain, Wax last forever ?

Hi, I have a few cars and one of them (a classic Mercedes) is never allowed out in the rain and gets driven about 6 times a year only.
I only wash it with plain water and a light hose to get the dust off.

i assume the Wax (FK1000p) will last a very long time ? I Wax it twice a uear, but only out of habit.

If say I never drove it, would the Wax last forever ????

    cheers

Garage-kept, no real exposure to the elements WILL allow the FK1000p to last longer than on a car driven in and exposed to the elements, BUT even so, ALL LSPs have a limited lifespan and will degrade over time. Waxing with FK1000p twice a year should ensure you never reach the product`s `failure point` and keep your car protected for a long time.

Although part of the fun of owning a cool car is driving it, getting it dirty and cleaning it up again.

I`ve had wax last 3 plus years on a mostly garage kept car with no signs of fading. You`ll be fine in that respect.

You may want to think about washing the car with more than plain water. A good soap won`t hurt the wax and some even leave additional protection behind.

Yeah, you can fine-tune your maintenance procedures, Digger, and protect with FK 1000p, and will find it lasts a long, long time.

I agree with Dan, don`t just use plain water. I would look at Optimum No Rinse for maintenance washes. It will help remove and encapsulate dirt, and leaves behind an added layer of protection that also happens to look great.

IME, if kept out of stuff that can compromise LSP (including extreme weather conditions, though rain doesn`t seem to do much), LSPs like FK1000P can last almost indefinitely. I`ve gone well over a year without refreshing FK1000P and it still had that "just waxed" effect even after washing with my usual shampoos (which don`t seem to affect it much at all despite my many-step, shampoo intensive, washes). Those vehicles were driven on nice days, sometimes to the tune of thousands of miles. The FK just kept on keeping on the way people say their coatings do.

I usually rewax with FK1000P at least annually, but it`s not always necessary...not by a long shot. And again, those vehicles are the ones I drive all the time.
