    Ceramic Coating Plasti Dipped Wheels

Was going to help my brother get his car all cleaned up, his wheels were recently plasti dipped and I have plenty of McKee’s wheel coating left. Is it worth coating them? Wasn’t sure how it would bond to the Dip on the wheels. Searched a little but couldn’t find this particular topic.

    Thanks

I haven`t particularly coated dipped wheels but I have used Mckees 37 Hydro Blue Sio2 spray and rinse coating on dipped wheels with good results.

Yeah I do have some hydro2 lite. Might still give it a shot, the coating was cheap enough and won’t need to re do my wheels until spring.

Does anyone have any idea on the shelf life of the coating once opened ? I mean the bottle should be somewhat air tight.

I`d be careful with the coating on dip. It`s possible it could eat into the dip. I would either just spray wax them or, as stated above use a spray and rinse product for the best results!

It turns out the wheels we were doing weren`t the coated ones. Ended up just using Hydro 2 Lite as we were kind of limited on time. Good to know tho won`t try it in the future.

SizzleChest how are yours holding up? If i remember you had dipped the wheels on the Porsche(?) They were different but I like it a lot.

^^^Holding up great! The original color I did lasted over 2 years (not a ton of miles) and then I just re-did them gold for a color change. It is very resilient and holds up fantastic!
