    2015 Honda Accord Window Trim

I`m just curious to see how people treat the matte black door sill panels on the 9th gen Accords. I washed mine today with ONR and dried with a drying towel and PFM. Car looked great then I get to work and noticed the spotting on the panels. Any suggestions what to use on them ?

Gyeon trim or kamakaze myabi works great. You can wax them also, I have used Griot`s poly wax with excellent results.

Interesting i do have some paste wax I could try, Bf Midnight Sun and Pinnacle Series II, what about getting rid of the spotting ? I do have some Gyeon Spot remover.

I have the same issue on my 2014. I am going to see if hyper polish will clean them up. According to OPT it will not stain trim

Anyone have any luck ? Was going to try a bit of essence or possibly another light polish like Mez 3800 or their 3in1 just don’t want to make it worse if it doesn’t work for others.

Have y`all tried HyperPolish? It has been recommended several times on here.

Try Meguiar`s D156 xpress spray wax. I`ve had good luck with D156 on similar trim on my 2006 Sienna.

Noting that I haven`t owned a Honda since the `80s....

On my vehicles I clean such surfaces, until they`re genuinely *spotlessly clean and bare*, usually with Griot`s Rubber Prep. Then I treat them with Ultima TTG+. Maintain with D156/UQW or something similar.

I used to use KAIO + 845, and that worked OK too.

If they`re too nasty for just the Griot`s Rubber Prep, I use a mild compound that doesn`t leave white staining (as long as it`s buffed off before it flashes), mnamely Hi-Temp Fast Cut Leveler/"357", which seldom requires a follow-up (just go straight to the Rubber Prep).

And BTW, heh heh, yeah..I know they`re not rubber. Try the Rubber Prep anyhow.

Looks like there’s many different approaches, going to clean with some spray on car wash and maybe try one of the polishes I have like Mez 3800 or their 3 in 1 on a white pad. There usually clean per day just the uneven finish/spots irks me. Hopefully I can try it this week.

I’ll also look into the rubber prep as well.

Celticsfan- I`ve never used that Menzerna product, but the ones I have used had *WAY* too many oils for me (when it comes to this application). Be sure to a) break the product down and especially 2) get *ALL* the polishing oils of/out of the plastic, otherwise it`ll be a real mess after they dissipate, which is often much later after you`ve thought all was well.

Don`t mean to scare you off the idea, but I dunno...

These piano black plastic pieces are getting more and more common. They look great new, but scratch and stain so easily, I won`t be sad to see this design idea go the way of the dodo bird.

Accords don’t have piano black. It’s more of a matte textured black trim piece.
