Question Anyone wear a detailing apron while detailing?

I`ve watched quite a few detailing videos, and I`ve seen a fair number of detailers wear protective aprons while they are working. Anyone here wear an apron while working on your (or your client`s) vehicles? Any recommendations for a quality apron for this purpose? I`ve looked at a few options, including these:

    Autogeek Professional Detailing Apron

Chemical Guys ACC_333 - Skull Premium Logo Detailing Apron

Chemical Guys MIC_APRON1 - Microfiber Detailing Apron

    Thanks!

Out of curiosity, which one is it (is it by a particular maker)? What material is it made out of?

I wear one on occasion, it says GolfSmith on it. It`s my old golf club making apron. The benefit for me is more the pockets than the protection.

I would no doubt be better off with a Todd Helme belt.

Pockets` waffle weave apron makes a lot of sense from a protection stand point. Chris is this apron hot?

I do have a new nanoskin this is years old, I guess it`s made from cotton.

I use this one mainly when buffing/polishing so I do not look like the target and do not scratch the finish

I`ve got a meguiar`s and a older properautocare.com one. maybe if I were doing a high end one, but it`s usually so hot and humid here, a t-shirt and shorts will have to do. I do like those poorboy ones.

I do like the Poorboy`s Microfiber Apron. I don`t think I would put any bottles in the pockets as they suggest, as that could easily create a scratch by accident. But the material seems perfect for polishing without marring the paint. And it`s not too bad at $25.

I only saw one negative review on it:

I was disappointed to find out that this was not what it looked like in the picture. Its way to thick and actually is not comfortable to wear. The pockets are to big and product easily falls out. I will be returning this item.

But otherwise, the few reviews written that I read were positive.

I have worn both the denim & a micro fiber one. I like the micro fiber on for polishing & waxing

I really like it, not uncomfortable to me and the pockets come in handy when doing RV`s and 8` off the ground

    I do not.

I just wear close that won`t scratch or that I care if they get splattered. I use a cart to hold all my junk.

From what I`m told the detailers that charge the big bucks remove their jewelry and and buckles to keep from scratching the cars there the guys who was by hand and use their hands as applicators. what`s next. Detailing bare azz naked. I`m sure it will be the next craze. It will give the reflective detailing selfie a who new exposure.

Removing jewelry and buckles really isn`t a bad idea anyway. I don`t wear jewelry but I always remove my belt prior to anything that may have me leaning on the paint.

I`ve known auto techs that aren`t allowed to wear metal buckles at work exactly for that reason. Jewelry can actually get caught and cause some pretty serious injuries. The likelihood of that happening depends on what exactly you`re doing, but it is still a risk that is very easy to negate.

Now, if you will excuse me, I must go pray for wisdom from the Meguiar`s gods.

Wearing an apron would drive me nuts. Sports shirts/shorts do the trick for me

When doing polishing or sealing, etc. I just use my home depot construction apron.
