    Adhesive removal on new car

Hey guys, been a long time since I posted on here but have always enjoyed reading the incredible wealth of knowledge available as I am an avid weekend warrior. I`m sure this topic has been covered before but most threads I found while searching were years old. I recently (like 2 days ago) took delivery of a 2016 WRX limited in crystal black silica. My previous vehicle was kept in very good shape as I am crazy about a clean car. I had the dealer not do anything to the car. When I arrived at the dealer all the plastic was still on it as I requested. When I took the plastic film off I found that there are lines of what I assume is some type glue from the film all over the vehicle all well as a nasty spot on the hood. I had hoped washing it would remove most of it but it didn`t. I also tried some ultimate quick wax but it didn`t work either. My question is what can I use that will safely and effectively remove it. I`m terrified of using anything too aggressive as the car is so new. Any advice would be awesome, thanks guys.

ValuGard`s New Car Prep was specifically developed for this exact application, and is tested/approved by all the major Automakers. That is the specific product that`s supposed to be used for this job, though I`m sure there are others that`d work OK too.

Thanks Accumulator. I will check that out. I just found turtle wax label and sticker remover in my basememt which I assume is probably similar to mineral spirits which is supposed to be safe. Just smells so strong.

Stoners Tarminator can work, or Rapid Remover.

Thanks. Maybe I`ll try the tarminator as I would like to get this done today and I believe that can be had at advance or autozone. Thanks for the replies.

I just went through this a couple of months back. I brought mine home with the plastic on it. I took it through a wand wash, decontaminated and used Poorboys Waterless Wash. It took the sticker shadow off of mine. If I`d have had Valugard`s Paint Prep product, I`d have used it.

When I removed the Rapgard new car wrap from a car I used Valugard New Car Prep and it worked like a charm
Treat it like it`s the only one in the world.
