    Hey guys,

Just bought a 1990 Mustang Notch with the Titanium Gray Interior. Not the easiest color interior as it tends to show everything. As many of you know, the door panels on these have a grit-like texture so it makes it even more difficult.

I`ve tackled it with brushes and dish soap....they came out much better however I feel that it could be better. Any suggestions?

Those plastics like some oil. First I would use an apc (i like opc), multiple times, multiple brushes, even a steamer if yoy have access to one. Next I would try something like Megs #40 or Aerospace 303, saturate the plastic. Let it sit a day, then reapply and blot/buff off excess. Repeat every other wash or so, until you feel they are "even" enough. From then on you should be able to use a low-shine interior quick detailer (otc) or something like 1Z Cockpit Premium for a nice matte but even finish with no slickness. But using 1Z now would only result in overdrying and spotty looking door panels.

On my old civic, though, 1Z just never worked well. I kept a bottle of #40 for it.

I was going to use 303 as a last step protectant as I always have in all my cars.

So far, all I`ve used wash dish soap mixed with water to try and rid of the grime stuck in the panels.

The grime will come out faster and more thorough with something like opc ime. Hekc, try some pure ope and let it dwell if it is really nasty. Then brush it out in a circular motion, rinse, repeat.
