I`ve tried searching first but didn`t come up with anything. Apologies in advance if this question gets asked by newbies all the time!

I`ve not had any luck buying tagless microfiber locally. I just bought a batch from Target for sills, trunk and engine compartment work. So having the best MF isn`t critical, but I`d still like to remove the tags. If I just grab and rip, it ruins the edge of the towel, starting an unraveling of the woven edge.

What is the best technique for removing the tags? Grab and rip? Scissors and pick out the remnants? TIA.

First thing I do with a new towel, grab and rip. Never had a problem in 15 years.

Same here. Just a quick rip and those suckers are gone. I have yet had a towel fall apart from it.

if the tag doesn`t rip off easily, i carefully cut with cuticle scissors (about $5 or less) as close as possible to the edge where it almost seems they aren`t there. i also do this with t-shirts as i don`t care for the tags as well...

I just buy towels that don`t have tags in the first place.... same with t-shirts.

I`ve cut the tags off various textiles with an X-Acto knife, using magnification, but I don`t bother doing that with my MFs. I too just rip `em off and while that portion of the edge might sometimes fray it`s never been functionally significant.

Just one more reaon I love Cobra 530`s; the tag is just a sticker that pulls off. I kinda wish Griot`s would do that.

I cut labels off my mfs with scissors close to the seam for minimum impact. Have tried ripping but hasn`t worked well (perhaps it`s my technique).

Thanks all for the replies. I did the grip and rip on these towels and it worked just fine this time. Perhaps it was my technique has improved, or the labels were weaker, but it didn`t destroy the towels like it did the last time.
