Hey there, Jon!! Long time!!
I`m glad to see so many old-timers posting here again! Sorry that I`m not chiming in all the time to welcome people back, please don`t take it as disinterest.
ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. I used Souveran on the Jag for ages..my fave LSP on that paint, and when I tried doing it with P21s it looked so horribly different that I promptly stripped that [stuff] off and redid it with Souveran..all better. The P21s might look OK on something else, but not on that car, not to my eyes. P21s looked a lot more like M16 or maybe Collinite 845; it was a "bright reflective" wax, moreso than the Souveran by a huge margin.
I was never sure about the Souveran vs P21S myself so I kept on using the Souveran instead of switching and experimenting. It’s amazing on black even looks damn good on white!
I wish David would have replied to my post. He sure seemed pretty adamant that they were the same thing, and I have to believe he of all people would know.
He is actually claiming that Wolfgang Fusion = Pinnacle Souveran = S100 = P21S. Someone is arguing with him about the waxes being different and he basically replies with, believe as you wish, I founded Autopia-CarCare and the Autopia forum, sold to PBMA. Prior to that worked with Classic Motoring Accessories which created Souveran (rebranded P21S with a satin bag)."
Fuzion lasts longer for me than Souveran. That`s for sure
TGates- I`m cool with the "believe what you wish", and/but I do wish David were chiming in.
This is like some of the waxes TOL used to sell that were supposedly identical to [other LSPs]. Side-by-side on the same vehicle was good enough for me to make up my mind.
So, FWIW, since gee, who really knows?!? and..who really cares?!? ;) ...I`d just recommend trying `em out side-by-side on a paint you know very well. Then make up your own mind and, well...let anybody else believe what he likes :D
Checking in from 2004. Is Spoiledman still around?
I think there are lots of products that are the same sold under different labels. At one time I had S100 and while it was nice, it didn`t last more than a couple weeks. I personally think those products are a waste of time and money. Unless your car sits inside 75% of the time don`t bother with them.
Been away for a while, but been on here since 2001!
Yeah, can`t believe it`s been almost 20 years ago that I joined. I`ve been away for a long time myself since my last check-in. To be frank, hip and back problems have all but put a stop to a lot of what I used to do on my cars including detailing. I still do my best to keep them maintained but long gone are the days of spending a weekend let alone a couple hours polishing, etc.
Age and old injuries are finally catching up to me. lol
Wow, a blast from the past! Just think, all these newbies (generations of them) learned from us!
Quite an afternoon for (the current) Autopia when both BradB and Eliot Ness stop by.
