    What would you suggest to polish a brand new right from the factory gray GTR with? Looking for a good single step solution prior to the front getting clear bra. I`ve heard the paint is finicky

    I like Menzerna Power Finish then wipe with alcohol.

    Yup, or even Super Finish if the paint is not marred up.

    I`ve done several and have always used 205, but you may not need that much cut. HD Polish also works well if the paint is in good shape.

    Agreed with both of these guys.... PO203S or PO106FA would be my pick as well depending on paint condition.

    I am still learning:

    Question - What is the purpose of `wiping with alcohol`?

    Would that not take away the finish that was just applied?

    It`s supposed to remove any oils and residue left behind from the polish. This also shows if there is any swirls or RIDS left that the oils may have filled. Some products benefit from this, some don`t, depends how oily they are.

    Depends on the condition of the paint when you get it; 85RD doesn`t really have a lot of cut.

    And no, 85RD is not Power Finish. PO203S is.

    85RD = Micro Polish.
