Smoke Odor Wont Go Away

Ok guys I have a Nissan Armada that is ONE year old and the previous owner smoked in it and it has the worst smoke smell I have ever smelled. I was finding ashes in every sq inch of the car. My fathers company is selling the car and smoke odor is a deal killer for most so we want to get it out if possible.



I thoroughly cleaned every inch of carpet, leather, headliner, replaced the cabin filter, etc, etc. I then sprayed SOpure and Megs 23 (I think) odor eliminator. The smell was still there so I ordered and used "Auto Vaccine" (I had never used one but figured I would give it a shot) I ran the car of recirculate with the heat on high for over an hr and then let it sit closed up over night. That didnt do much.



I am at a loss on this one. Any other suggestions?

I bet the vinager trick would work alot better after pre-cleaning the interior.

David, since the interior is already scrubbed Ill let everyone know how it works. If you said placing dog turds in the car would help Id give it a shot.

I suggest using an Ozone generator. Did you change out the cabin filter and clean all the A/C duct work too?









Edit: I`ve never heard of the DrivePur stuff....I`ll have to check that out.

This suggestion if for the leather including the vinyl or simulated leathers.



1] The sticky micron soot and smoke residue requires a leather prep to dislodge it.



2] This would be immediately followed with a leather-safe soot and smoke cleaning booster and deodorizer.



3] All sticky residue is removed by a leather-safe cleaner follows by rinse.



4] Odor mask it with the unforgettable leather scent protector.

Baking soda sprinkled everywhere also absorbs odors. Also get an a/c vent clean can and run that rhrough.

The vinegar trick as worked for me in the past in an apartment with a neighbor that smoked. It requires a whole lot more vinegar than one would expect, though. I would also do the baking soda as well.

I used vinegar also, but didn`t soak towels in it, just put it in two big bowls overnight. Removed about 90% of the smell.

The key seems to be for the Odorid liquid to make contact with the source of the odor.

I demo`ed the concentrated form, called OdorCon, at the Portland, OR Morgue which stunk really

awful and when I sprayed all the walls, ceiling tile, and floor, the odor was gone.

My Dad used this product to eliminate the odor from a car where the person had committed suicide

near Palm Springs, and they found him after 3-4 days.

Dakota odour bombs will work. I`ve successfully killed tobacco smoke in numerous vehicles with them.
