So for the 2nd time in 3 years I`ll be detailing my brother in laws black 4Runner. Heavy scratches, it`s single stage paint. Last time I did it I used an orange pad on my PC and the Menzerna IP an FP II combo... which did quite good, took out a lot of the finer scratches and cleaned up the car a bit. But there were still a lot of scratches I did not get out and I`m about to do it again this week. Was thinking should I step up to M105... start first on a white pad and see if it does the trick? I don`t want to remove too much paint and I`m generally a little more apprehensive about using these heavier compounds on vehicles but I used M105 on my sisters red Accord and it worked great, finished up nice and was easy to use. But I don`t know when it comes to single stage paint. Should I attack these swirls with M105 and not worry about it (using common sense obviously). Any advice? It`s really the only car I`ve ever done with single stage paint.

Was thinking:

Wash

M105 on White - go to orange if it isn`t working

Menzerna FPII or PB`s SSR1

PB`s Black Hole

Duragloss 111 CCP

Any advice? Changes I should make?
