Hi Folks,
First post, long time reader and admirer of a lot of folk`s work on here. I have truly learned so much just from this board and the detailing forum over on the VWVORTEX forums. I also have to give credit to Cosmin who own ProReflection here in Austin, TX (we`re buddies and I help him from time to time). I`m a weekend warrior with my day time job working for a software company, but along the way I`ve picked up some good work and had some good results with my tools of the trade. Below is my write-up on an F-350 that was brand new with some hardcore water spots/stains. My PC 7424XP and pads did a great job. I explain why I used a blue pad vs. white. If I did this again I would have done white and saved a lot of time but still happy with the results and wanted to share.
Process
Wash/clay
-Two bucket wash w/ Megs Gold class
-Dawn Dish soap used during claying stage
-Meguiar`s Clay bar
-Wool wash mit
-Dried with 2 WW towels & Toro Blower for tight spots.
Wheels/Tires
-Various Brushes w/ P21s Wheel Gel
-Wheel wells in the rear received some Aerospace 303(front was a fabric material fender liner so cleaned with wool lite and water)
Correction
- Water and White Vinegar wiped across affected area with microfiber towel
-PCXP 7424
-Megs #205 w/ LC Blue pad (2 Passes)
LSP
Duragloss #105
Meg`s NXt Paste (by hand)
Correction Notes:
Have some shots below to show how bad the water spots were after washing and good shots in the sun to show correction. After clay I went back to the affected areas and wiped it down with white vinegar and water with a microfiber to help remove more deposits and spots. Next I followed up with M205 on a blue pad and did a total of 2 passes on areas with spots remaining. My white pad which I would have usually have used was actually pretty worn out so I didn`t want to make more work on myself. Probably with a white pad would have only needed one pass with 205 but I am happy with the results and the customer was extremely relieved & happy.
