Getting blood out of fabric.

I was watching The Dr`s today and they had an episode on how to get blood out of clothes and fabric. I wonder if it would work on seats/carpets. I will have to keep it in mind next time I come across this situation. It seemed very simple. Spray glass cleaner with ammonia on the fabric, then sprinkle salt on it and rub. It apparently comes right out...at least they say. Anyone else ever hear of this?

IMO, Spray Nine, allow to dwell, the extractor it out. My experience with blood is very very limited, but this has worked in the past.

David, do you know how this stuff works, if it works well? I was suprised to see the "Hi-Temp" when I clicked on it...the only thing of theirs that I have ever used was the smooth cut; and it worked "ok".

For blood and urine I have had great luck with a protein cleaner sold at Pets Mart.

street5927- Huh, I`ve never tried that...always wanted to use something made just for protein stains :think:



The Hi-Temp stuff David Fermani suggested *DOES* work, or at least it did for me. This was dried blood on light colored upholstery (chair). Old, dried blood too...I was pretty surprised that it came out OK. I sprinkled the stuff on straight from the jar, moistened with a little carpet pre-spot stuff and give it a LOOONG dwell time.



Works well on dog vomit too.



Same stuff also worked for an Audi trunk where a pal spilled a protein drink and let it dry (think "death car stench"), and I bet he wasn`t, uhm....Autopian about how he went about the cleanup either (no way would I do it for him :grinno: ).
