My 4Runner has little etching marks in the glass of the side doors. Is there a proper way to maybe sand down and polish these out?

I suggest you try some 4x steel wool with some Meguiar`s or Mothers Chrome Polish. Apply a small dot or two of the polish on the SS and lightly apply it to the glass surfaces. Always perform a test on a small area to make sure you are getting the desired results.

Lake country makes a glass polishing kit that they claim can be used on a PC, but I`ve only ever tried it with a rotary. Works very well though.

I used 0000 steel wool on my old Integra and it got rid of about 90-95% of etching, but you will have to either polish the glass afterwards or deal with scratches that honestly can only be faintly seen at night and aren`t noticeable during the day.

    Hello 01svtL,

You need to have or buy below mentioned car detailing products:

    1. Car Glass Restoration Polish
    2. Car Glass Buffing Pad
    3. Car Glass Cleaner
    4. Towel/Microfiber Towel
    5. Squeegee

Apply small amount of car glass restoration polish on glass buffing pad and rub the buffing pad on glass etching to eliminate it. Use more polish When it gets dry out and repeat until you get the desire result. Spray then car glass cleaner on it and clean off the glass with towel/microfiber towel. Use squeegee to dry out car glass after pouring water on it.
