Just recently ordered some new products; Opt-Seal and BFWD. I have a dark slate metallic Altima and a red Silverado. The first question I have is does anyone prefer one LSP over the other for these colors? The second question deals with striping old wax\sealants. I`ve searched the forum and read considerable debate about striping any 5 month old remaining Zaino off both these vehicle without polishing. Both of these vehicles are in good shape with some light micro marring on the truck. For the Altima I was considering just using the BF Gloss enhancing polish to clean up the paint prior to using BFWD. For the truck I plan to do a 50%-50% IPA wipe down prior to using Opt-Seal. Any input would be appreciated.

    I like opti-seal.

Also, you can strip the remaining Zaino with a good washing of Dawn Soap or some sort of aggressive car soap (CG`s Citrus Wash) Or you can do a full IPA wipedown. You`ll know when all of the Zaino is removed when you have no surface tension (beading effect)

BFWD and Opti-seal are both very tolerant of other products underneath them. But if you feel like stripping your protection, a light polish should remove any LSP. IPA or a strong soap will do nothing to a strong sealant like Zaino.

You could always strip the exisiting LSP with something like PrepWash or the first/alkaline step of a decontamination system, same idea as the Dawn/etc. wash but a whole lot more effective. Not that I`d probably bother stripping it myself...

As to "what looks best" on certain colors, well, everybody has an opinion but I`d try something very different from what`s on there now so you get a diff that`s worth the effort.
