Guys, I`m wetsanding with 2500 grit and I needed to know what you guys prefer as a first step.

I will be using m105 first with either Megs Maroon yellow or Maroon

    Then m105-orange foam

    M205-white

    UF

I was just curious as to how much the maroon cuts? Is it TOO much to cut as first step? Or should I just get the yellow?

I would get both. It depends on the paint/clear. I find that on Black GM clear maroon+M105 has decent cut, but leaves a pretty big mess behind(trails and a very hazy finish) Thats the only clear I have used it on so far. Again, get both just to be safe. You never know when you might need it again.

You really need a wool pad and rotary for following up wetsanding marks if you want to do it fast.

wannafbody is right- you’re gonna need a wool pad(s). I suggest multiple pads.

I`d go the Maroon, at a fairly low speed; It seems to reduce the haze and should bring 2500 back pretty quickly wool would be faster but an extra stage might be needed so maybe not faster in the long run. You could probably jump straight to Yellow and 205 after that.

Well I kinda narrowed it down to the megs maroon or yellow, so I`d like to keep it between those two.

The thing is, I will be working on one kind of clear coat throughout, so I don`t need multiple pads/combos. I just need to figure out what works best.

I`m pretty sure he`s referring to the Solo wool pads.
