The BMW dealership sells leather cleaner/conditioner that smells great, I don`t know how to describe it, like new car smell + leather smell.

What if I use this product on my leatherette (vinyl) seats? Any harm in this?

    Thanks in advance.

The only problems I`ve ever had from doing that is that some leather stuff degrades into a sorta slimy mess when it just sits on top of materials like vinyl as opposed to soaking into porous meterials like (uncoated) leather. But so much of today`s leather is coated anyhow...and that stuff can usually be treated about the same as vinyl so I wouldn`t worry too much.

    Great, thanks for reply!

The bottle mentions not to use it on un-coated leather.

Huh, that`s interesting. Sounds like that particular leather product might be geared more towards vinyl (in the functional sense) than towards straight (i.e., uncoated) leather!

As Accumulator mentioned, most leather out there now days is coated. For the practicality I assume.

In which case, I usually don`t worry (as much) about what I`m using when it comes to cleaning vinyl and leather, especially leatherette/pleather.

    Look out for:

    Streaks!

    Brightness!

    Tackiness!

As these symptoms do weakens the finishes due to Alkaline or Solvency over-exposure that need to be neutralized to stabilize the pH chemistry integrity.
