I`ve done quite a bit of reading about what causes the tires to brown, and all sorts of things of that nature. So here`s an interesting question I pose to you guys.
I`ve switched to water based dressings on my tires, specifically 4Star tire dressing. As we all know, it`s water based so when it rains (typically the day after i wash my car), it`s gone almost immediately. It tends to leave enough behind to not allow much browning.
So here`s the strangeness. I washed the car yesterday, and cleaned the tires with my tire brush and some car soap (Meguiar`s Gold Class). Hosed them down and went off to finish other parts of the car while they dried enough to use tire stuff on them. When I came back to them, they were hugely brown. The car didn`t move or roll or anything like that which is typically associated with causing browning. I thought it was rather strange, and applied my tire stuff with no issues.
So the question is, what happened, why, and is it normal? I thought it might be dirt and stuff from the brush getting on them, but it was pretty even for that, and I clean my brush against the grit guard to try to get as much nastiness off it as possible. So I dunno.
