Hi gang,
My apologies if this has been covered, I`ve searched quite extensively, and no thread suggests any type of DIY fix.
In any case, I`ve got a set of the following rims, and all 4 came with corrosion on the machined lip. The rim itself is aluminum, so I`d assume the lip itself is aluminum as well.
Are there any DIY steps to fixing it? These are my track rims, so I`m not too afraid of salt getting to it, and the end result doesn`t need to be 100% either.
Would I be able to sand it down with say, 1500-->2000, and then repolish with OHC-->OP?
Any concerns with the bare aluminum (protected by say, Collinite 845?)
Thanks!
