It depends on how hot it is whether or not it could damage anything. I`d assume steam cleaning would produce more marring than a no rinse wash because you`d still have to wipe it down.
It would sure take your LSP off in a heck of a hurry.

but if you did a steam clean on the exterior, you could steam clean most of the grime away until it looks like clear water rolling off, and then come back with a waterless wash or no rinse wash with good results i bet.
