I have multiple questions in this thread, :hide: but the main one is...

What are the latest opinions in portable work lights for *paint correction*?

I`m hearing fluorescent is not the way to go.:nono

Dual halogens seem to be the standard. :waxing:

Those willing to shell out more $$$ have a Sun Gun or Infratech. :buffing:

(that being said, is natural sunlight 5300k or is it recommended to go to 6500k?)

There`s also the Brinkmann MaxFire Dual Xenon Rechargeable Spotlight (I grabbed one of these as it`s handy, rechargable, and $30).

    What about LED?

180 LED Portable Worklight - L-1300 at The Home Depot

And what about Metal Halide?

    For general *garage lighting*...

I hear incandescent can be useful at times. But is it preferred over flourescent or CCFL for your garages main general lighting?

CCFLs are energy efficient, but have trace amounts of mercury in them and may require additional steps for disposal (especially if they break). Also, CCFLs can be found in a Cool White light, 6500k.

    Then there`s T8`s T12`s and T5HO`s. :nervous2: :angry

I`m personally considering replacing my incandescents with the CCFL 6500k for general lighting until I have T5HO flouroscent banks installed later down the line. Should I have both? For correction - dual halogen tripod. Although, the LED looks cool too. Am I thinking wrong?:nixweiss

    :faint:

Please feel free to comment on one small part or all questions. I`ll leave it open to whoever has a comment, opinion, disagreement. Jump on in. Don`t feel you have address *my* specific situation. I really want to talk up new technologies and pros/cons do`s/don`ts of all these different kinds of light.

I haven`t seen much talk on this subject and it may be robust enough to warrant its own forum topic.

    And thanks a ton!!!

    :thx
