Hello all, I have been looking for some good bug and tar removers. So far I use Turtle wax bug and tar remover, which seems to work fine but doesn`t seem designed to take out tougher stains (or it can but requires multiple applications). Just wanted to get an idea of what everyone else uses and try them out!

    Thanks!

The warning on the SC grime destroyer is almost a badge of honor:

CAUTION: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES. CONTAINS SODIUM METASILICATE. CAN CAUSE SEVERE, IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE TO EYES. Ingestion may cause severe gastrointestinal complications. Inhalation may cause respiratory irritation. FIRST AID PROCEDURES: Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air and give oxygen if necessary. Eyes: Get emergency medical attention immediately. Also flush eyes with water. Skin: Flush with flowing water. See physician if irritation persists. Ingestion: Call a physician immediately.

Irreversible damage to eyes is enough to tell me "This is good stuff"

I`ll also agree with the Stoner`s Tarminator as a pretty effective tar remover compared to others I`ve tried.

Stoner`s Tarminator is great for tar, but IMO is overkill for bug and general road grime. I use PB`s Bug Squash for that purpose. Even diluting past full strength it is effective enough to remove bug guts etc.

I dilute SC Grime Destroyer 3:1 for bug duty and engine cleaning. I`ve not really found anything where full strength is needed. And it sprays nicely at 3:1 with one of the ZEP sprayers too.

I`ve been quite pleased with how well Zaino`s car wash (Z-7) works to remove tar and bugs even off the front bumper of my LS430 as well as the rocker pannels. Of course I am a Zaino Zealot!

I use this stuff from AutoGem simply called "bug remover" best stuff I`ve ever used. literally spray on and the bugs just wipe off effortlessly. Great stuff.

Turtle Wax, Bug and Tar remover which comes in a metal can. Not the spray and not the aerosol.

The one I am using right now is the turtle wax one in the black spray bottle. Also, I thought there was only 2? The yellow can, isn`t it an aerosol??
