Clay For Windows

I know I wont be doing it often, but which clay do you guys think will work nice on windows?

Absolutely yes. I find myself doing it more often. It really is an excellent method of removing hard-to-see contaminants.



A few (auto) mfrs recommend claying when someone complains about chattering windshield wipers. It`s also a great way of removing overspray from glass - - ask me how I know



As a follow-up, I`ll typically use a sealant on all glass but the windshield, don`t overlook the sunroof. I use Aquapel on the windshield.

Lots of guys really get in to all the different type of clay, but honestly... to me, clay is clay. I just clay the window with whatever type of clay I`m using on the car. And that`s always the cheapest clay I was able to find at the time.



Glass is *much* harder than a car`s paint job, so you really don`t have to worry too much about using a clay that`s too harsh.



I treat the exterior glass the same way as the paint from start to finish. It gets clayed, abrasive polish, glazed, and LSP`d just the same.

The best :woot: Great product, no chatter like you find with Brand X. It lasts far longer than the mfr claims.



Pepboi sells it now. IIRC, it`s $8/application. Others have reported COSTCO offering a 4pk for $16...that`s an excellent price.

Nope. Just curious since I seen so videos where they install tint on the outside. I never got tint before tho.

You sure they will installing it on the outside? Probably just cutting it to shape and then transferring it inside...

I would say no. I`d stick to something like Plexus for tint.

You can use clay on the windows. I would start with a clean bar in case there are contaminants in the clay from detaling the the body of the car. The inside I would not touch, especially if the windows are tinted. Wash them down after claying with lubricant and polish them up.



I`d only go this route in extreme cases.

Why glaze the window superbee?

Some glazes (GEPC, PCL, HD-Cleanse, MFTG, etc) are great glass and glass trim cleaners. They make quick work of any white residue, and provide the same type of surface prep on glass as they do on paint.
