Hello, I just bought a 2006 certified BMW 330i from the local dealer. The car is in excellent condition but there is one issue with a small area of salt build up on the black carpet at the edge of the floor mat on the drivers side. The dealer said they tried to remove it but it wouldnt come out and they "didnt want to damage the carpet".

Other than that spot the interior looks like brand new so I would really like to get it out if possible.

Use a brass brush to break it down.

Glad you got it sorted out. In cases where the brass brush might be too aggressive, a steamer and/or distilled white vinegar can work too.

+1 accumulator, hot water and white vinegar. Rinse well and quickly follow with something that smells good to cover up the pleasant vinegar scent.
