I am forced to work outside currently sonce the garage is filled with family bikes, sports equip and other junk.

I have been polishing my car pannel by pannel. Doing a little each weekend, Ufortunatly i rained yesterday. it take me a while because I am new to this and work slowly. have tried to wash car night before, park in garage, wake up early and get done before sun get too strong. I have considered purchasing some type of "tent type enclosure but wanted to check and see if for correction and sealing it is critical to be out of the sun?

Little league ends this week so my coaching comittment also ends. Should free up some time for me.

    Car is black.

    thanks,

    Jeff

The sun plays a big factor in detailing! Many polishes, sealants and waxes do no play well with direct sunlight. They tend to dry out quickly and or not bond properly. There are some polishes on the market that you can use in the sun but I would suggest getting an Eazy-up. It will make life alot easier to polish and applying LSP`s properly.

I`d look at some garage organization. I`d bet that you could get back a lot of that garage space with some planning. Things like bike hangers, shelving and storage tubs might make it easier to keep your car protected and allow working in the shade and out of the rain. LOL.

I already purchases a Epoxy floor system thanks to this forus and I have an electrician coming to plan some lighting. What tyype of lights do the pros reccommend/ i was going for flourecents and stand mounted halogens. Any other feed back is appreciated.

I`ve had some bad experience in the sun on black cars, even with products that claim to work well in the sun. The paint just gets too hot. Often I end up with streaks or hazing, which takes additional time to fix. It`s not worth spending all the extra time for me, so I almost never work in the sun on dark cars.
