I understand the concept of agressive polish, verses fine cut folish and Finishing polish. I also know that different color pads are more or less agressive. So the questions are
1. Among major manufacturers is there a "grit" scale by number so you know what the cut is of a product?
2. Does the pad color refelect the cut or is every manufacturer different?
3. Is the brand of car (paint hardness) a real factor.
I do not know what to buy to keep my cars looking great. Want the best finish possible for daily drivers. No garage queens (YET).
Is there a chart showing the progression for polish and the pad color associated?
What Polish grade/pad combo for a PC for the following
Really Bad car (can feel scratches)
Very Bad car (cannnot feel scratches)
Cosmetically bad swirls and visual imperfections (cannot feel imperfections)
Micro Marring seen in the sun
Random impefectons
Polish to perfection
I am in the Janitorial Cleaning supply distribution business and we sell floor pads and associated chemicals for floor maintenace. It is much easier to understand what pad goes with each process.
Thanks,
Jeff
