Took my BMW 330i in to get some damage repaired (neighbor backed into both front and rear doors). Before it went in I spent an entire weekend polishing and sealing the car. All swirls were gone when it went in, but here`s how it looked when I got it back today:

I think they used a brillo pad and kerosene to wash it. Unfortuately, since it`s Jet Black a rotary in my hands does more harm than good (since the paint is butter soft). I`ve had pretty good luck with a PC and some patience. Should I make a move to the Flex 3401? I think I might!

did you consider letting the body shop know and asking them for some reimbursement? Calling the credit card co and putting the payment on hold?

I had the exact same problem a couple years ago. It was so bad that they actuall somehow burned right down to metal by a wheel well. I noticed it as I was spending 8 hours to fix all the marring they put in. When they were given the car to fix the burned area, they were told specifically not to touch the rest of the car. Thankfully they didn`t. Anyone who brings their car to a bodyshop should be very clear and tell them not to touch the rest of the car.
