What do you all reccomend on taking the swirls out of GM factory polished wheels, not chrome or aluminum? I don`t think the PC is going to do anything on the thin lip and spokes.

Use a polish like SSR1 that says it can be used by hand. I used it on the lips of my Tahoe rims (clearcoat finish) and it worked well. I used the UDM on the flat face of the rims to save some time though.

RedlineIRL- What kind of wheels are you dealing with? I thought the wheels on my Denali XL were "polished" until one got severely scratched and I found that it has layers of (what is apparently) plating over the aluminum after all.

i have polished wheels on my C6, avalanche and CTS. they are ALL cleared and i just treat them the same way as the paint. clean, clay and then IW845. i don`t worry about a "little" marring, if so i use megs #9, 2.0. :secret:2thumbs:

RedlineIRL- Ah, OK, those *do* look like a polished finish. Yeah, some medium polish that can be used by hand is what I`d try too, but I`d take it sorta easy as I wouldn`t trust GM to have a lot of clear on those.
