Hey everyone just wanted to see what you guys use to clean vents and other little cracks. I have a little dusting brush that came with a detaling brush set and it works alright, but I was wondering if an investment on an air compressor would be worth it. I would also use it to blow the water around the door handles and stuff after I wash the car. Do the air compressors work well in taking off tough dust in the vents and such? Or do foam swabs work better? Or should I just stick with my little dust brush?

<rhetorical> and where will the dust go?!

I use a megs detail (or small paint) brush alongside a vaccum cleaner wand.

If you have money to burn, get a compressor - but I think it`s optional.

That`s why I seldom use the steamer for vents. I reach as far as I can with swabs dampened with something (cleaner, QD, dressing, whatever).

And yeah, I use the compressor to get water out of nooks and crannies *every* time I wash :xyxthumbs

The brush attachment on the Ridgid to start, then a Q-Tip soaked in IPA to get any leftover stuff.

Similarly to BigAl3, I use a popsicle stick wrapped in an MF with APC.

I gotta try that. Sounds good, and with a one year old baby girl, we have plenty of Kirkland Baby Wipes.

    Supe,

    Remember, they aren`t reusable.

Doo doo in the vents is bad news.

I generally spray the vent down with some Double Duty and then use a compressor and blow it clean.

I`ve never heard of using steam before to get dust out of tough areas. How does that work? That`s something I`d like to try.

Where does the dust/etc. go when you do this?

When I do it, it seems that the dust/etc. just gets blasted down into the ductwork; it`s still in there, just upstream from the vents. I don`t like the idea of moist dust/dirt/whatever getting concentrated in the ductwork.
